Confronting nostalgia—Tracing its Threads; Traces of memory, of roots, of land, of sea, of friendship, of sisterhood, of youth, of passion, of connection, of community, of laughter, of warmth, of togetherness, of pre-grief, of scents, of dialects, of colors, of aliveness, of belonging, and of family.
This series weaves together stitching motifs of Gaza with photographs taken by my sister Noor and me during our one-month visit to Gaza in 2012. With some of these images, memory blurs—we no longer remember who took them.
This series stands as a body of remembrance and a refusal to forget—a vessel for hope, for roots, for holding on to what cannot be erased.
With shared remembrance, love, and reverence for Palestine.

تنسج هذه السلسلة بين زخارف تطريز من مدينة غزة والصور التي التقطناها أنا وأختي نور خلال شهر قضيناه في غزة عام 2012، وبعض هذه الصور تغيب لحظتها عن الذاكرة فلا نتذكر من منّا صوّرها
تقف هذه الأعمال كجسد من التذكٌر ورفض للنسيان. هي حاضنة للأمل، وللجذور، وللتمسّك بما لا يمكن مسحه
