Gaza’s Lifeline I, 2025
Gaza’s Lifeline II, 2025
Because Earth is of the eternal, and Palestine is of the Earth, her land remains forever free in my heart.
These artworks weave together stitching motifs of Gaza with photographs taken by my sister Noor and me during our one-month visit to Gaza in 2012. As memory blurs—we no longer remember which one of us took these photos.
In each image, a moment lingers—revealing what endures in the city: the ocean—a lifeline that nourishes the vibrant spirit of the people of Gaza and serves as their only escape. A natural force that holds the fabric of my being together, no matter how far I am from the land—my homeland.
The statement in the artwork holds the deepest truth I carry and protect in my heart—because occupation is the lie, the illusion. These artworks stand as a body of remembrance, a refusal to forget Gaza’s essence and beauty. A vessel for hope, for heritage, for roots on what can not be erased.
With shared remembrance, love, and reverence for Palestine.
